FREE GRAVEL (and road) GPX files
We’d like to help you to enjoy some of the incredible gravel routes in and around Girona without always having to hire us. So here are some really nice routes for you to download and use. The routes have become the standard for the Castelli Girona social rides we do every Thursday. So if you’re in Girona on a Thursday morning, join us for a free coffee and pastry, and roll out of the store at 10.30am.
We alternate road and gravel from week to week, check the Castelli Girona instagram feed so you don’t show up with the wrong bike, not that a bike can be wrong. And you’re also welcome to join our monthly full-moon gravel rides, that’s right, you’ll need lights!!
There are two gravel routes and two road routes, all of which are great in either direction, so you get 8 potential routes in total! If reversing, be aware of one way streets, allow your GPS unit to reroute you.
In addition there are two new bonus routes from the Colnago Girona Gravel week. One is nice and short and suitable for novices, and one longer one, around 72km, with two wonderful long descents.
Gravel 1: Rivers and Volcanoes - leaving Girona along the River Ter, then heading east to circle the volcanic crater of Volca de la Crosa, this route gives a little of everything - 42km and 400m
Gravel 2: Forest and farm groad - north into the Canet d’Adri area - 35km and 380m
Road 1: Classic Llemenda Valley - out of town through Sant Gregori, to Llora and the beautiful Llemena valley, then the climbs of Les Serres and Mas Llunes make this a classic road loop - 52km and 590m
Road 2: Golf and Canet - quiet roads and some steep little ramps, a beautiful loop on rarely used roads - 44km and 700m
Colnago G3-X short: a nice easy route into the farmland and woods to the south of the city. 26km, 240m
Colnago G3-X long: a wonderful 4hr route with cafe options in Llagostera, before heading north back to Girona. 68km, 680m
